Jeskai (URW) Commander Combos

Jeskai combos are built around drawing cards and converting that draw into something lethal — the color combination doesn't produce the most efficient two-card kills in Commander, but it produces some of the most resilient and spell-based combo engines in the format.

The most popular line by a wide margin runs Smothering Tithe alongside Windfall and Underworld Breach. The engine is self-reinforcing: Windfall fills hands, Tithe punishes every draw the table takes, and Breach lets you rebuy the whole sequence from the graveyard. The result is effectively unlimited looting and draw triggers, with the loop generating enough resources to close the game through a follow-up payoff. It's the Jeskai combo that shows up most often because its pieces are generically useful before the combo assembles — Tithe is a staple in any white deck, Windfall fits any blue shell, and Breach asks only that you're casting spells.

Soulfire Grand Master anchors two separate lines. Paired with Blasphemous Act, it creates a near-infinite damage and lifegain loop that doubles as a board wipe. Paired with Jeska's Will, it generates infinite red mana and storm count while exiling your library — a faster and more explosive kill that rewards dedicated spellslinger builds. Both lines depend on the Grand Master's lifelink-granting and buyback ability, making her a high-value combo piece that also pulls weight outside the combo.

Faerie Mastermind appears in three distinct variants, all involving Smothering Tithe as the mana engine. The differences come down to the third piece: Goldspan Dragon, Zirda, the Dawnwaker, or Xorn. Each exploits the interaction between Mastermind's triggered draw and Tithe's Treasure generation to produce infinite mana and draw. Goldspan doubles the Treasure value; Zirda reduces activation costs; Xorn generates extra Treasures. All three converge on the same result through slightly different paths, which means the core two-card nucleus of Mastermind plus Tithe is worth running in any Jeskai deck with the density to support it.

At lower popularity but higher complexity, Elsha of the Infinite and Kykar, Wind's Fury each enable commander-dependent loops — Elsha through Ghostly Flicker and Mystic Sanctuary creating infinite storm, Kykar through Displacer Kitten and The One Ring generating infinite draw and spirit tokens. These lines are tighter and more fragile, but they reward commanders that are already doing something powerful in the combat step or on the stack.

The throughline across Jeskai combos is card draw as both engine and payoff. White contributes Smothering Tithe and control elements; red brings the impulsive card access and damage payoffs; blue ties the loops together with bounce, recursion, and countermagic protection. The color combination doesn't shortcut to winning — it grinds opponents out through resource generation and then converts that advantage into an infinite loop.
