God-Eternal Kefnet copies the drawn Approach of the Second Sun for 4W; Sunbird's Invocation then triggers off that cast, creating the window where Brainstorm can stack the original Approach back to the top of the library. The second Sunbird's Invocation trigger finds and casts Approach from the top without paying its cost, putting it in the graveyard, and the first copy resolves after — two Approach resolutions in one turn chain wins the game on the spot.

Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Move to your draw step, drawing Approach of the Second Sun and revealing it due to God-Eternal Kefnet's ability.
  2. Resolve God-Eternal Kefnet's trigger, copying Approach of the Second Sun and casting the copy from your hand by paying {4}{W}.
  3. Sunbird's Invocation triggers.
  4. In response, cast Brainstorm by paying {U}.
  5. Sunbird's Invocation triggers again, revealing the top card of your library and putting that card on the bottom of your library.
  6. Resolve Brainstorm, drawing three cards and putting Approach of the Second Sun plus any other card on top of your library.
  7. Resolve the remaining Sunbird's Invocation trigger, revealing the top seven cards of your library, casting Approach of the Second Sun without paying its mana cost, then putting the rest of the revealed cards on the bottom of your library.
  8. Resolve Approach of the Second Sun, putting it back into your library seventh from the top and gaining you 7 life.
  9. Resolve the remaining copy of Approach of the Second Sun.

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

The combo is fragile at assembly: Sunbird's Invocation at 6 mana is the slowest piece and the primary removal target, so redundancy via Thousand-Year Storm covers the enchantment slot if Sunbird's is answered. Brainstorm is the only cantrip in the loop that reorders the top of the library precisely enough to guarantee the trigger chain; Ponder does not replicate the same sequencing, so it stays in the support role rather than the combo slot.
