Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle is the engine: every historic spell cast returns Aether Channeler, which bounces a permanent, while Thermopod converts each Aether Channeler sacrifice into a red mana. Sol Ring and a historic permanent costing at or below 1CR keep the loop self-sustaining, with any cheaper historic permanent generating net mana per cycle. The combo fits cleanly into Teshar-led artifact recursion decks that already run Sol Ring and want a Thermopod as a sacrifice outlet.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

You have a historic permanent card in hand that can be cast using {C}{R}{R}. If the historic permanent can be cast for less than {C}{R}{R}, this combo nets infinite mana.

02

Steps

  1. Activate Sol Ring by tapping it, adding {C}{C}.
  2. Activate Thermopod's second ability by sacrificing Aether Channeler, adding {R}.
  3. Cast the historic permanent from your hand by paying its mana cost.
  4. Teshar triggers, returning Aether Channeler from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  5. When Aether Channeler enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Sol Ring from the battlefield to your hand.
  6. Activate Thermopod's second ability by sacrificing Aether Channeler, adding {R}.
  7. Cast Sol Ring by paying {1}.
  8. Teshar triggers, returning Aether Channeler from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  9. When Aether Channeler enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning the historic permanent cast in step 3 from the battlefield to your hand.
  10. Activate Thermopod's second ability by sacrificing Aether Channeler, adding {R}.
  11. Repeat from step 3.

03

Result

Infinite LTB; Infinite ETB; Infinite sacrifice triggers; Infinite death triggers; Infinite colorless mana; Infinite storm count; Infinite red mana

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Any historic permanent costing exactly 1CR closes the loop at parity; anything cheaper spills infinite colorless and red. If Thermopod is unavailable, no direct substitute preserves the sacrifice-for-red line — the combo is tightly built around it. Walking Ballista or Altar of the Brood converts the infinite ETB count into a table kill once the loop is running.
