Zirda, the Dawnwaker + Sunforger + Big Score + Jeska's Will + Transplant Theorist

5-card combo · URW

Verdict

Yes — this 5-piece loop generates near-infinite red mana and card draw, but the opponent-hand prerequisite makes it the most fragile engine in the Zirda Sunforger family.

Zirda, the Dawnwaker cuts Sunforger's activation cost and Transplant Theorist's recycling cost to make the loop affordable — without Zirda, neither Sunforger nor Theorist is cheap enough to sustain the chain. Each iteration reloads Jeska's Will and Big Score through Transplant Theorist, with Treasure tokens funding the equip and recur costs while Jeska's Will floods the pool with red. The combo lives in Jeskai Sunforger shells built around Zirda as commander, and the table sees Sunforger tutor twice before the engine becomes apparent.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

An opponent has six or more cards in hand.

02

Steps

  1. Activate Sunforger by paying {R}{W} and unattaching it, searching your library for Jeska's Will and casting it without paying its mana cost, adding at least six {R}.
  2. Activate Sunforger's equip ability by paying {1}, attaching it to Zirda.
  3. Activate Sunforger by paying {R}{W} and unattaching it, searching your library for Big Score and casting it without paying its mana cost and discarding a card.
  4. Resolve Big Score, causing you to draw two cards and create two Treasures.
  5. Activate Sunforger's equip ability by paying {1}, attaching it to Zirda.
  6. Activate Transplant Theorist twice by paying {2}, putting Big Score and Jeska's Will from your graveyard onto the bottom of your library.
  7. Activate two Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding {W}{W}.
  8. Repeat.

Result

Infinite draw triggers; Near-infinite storm count; Near-infinite self-discard triggers; Near-infinite magecraft triggers; Near-infinite card draw; Near-infinite red mana

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

If an opponent drops below six cards mid-loop, the entire line collapses — run Notion Thief or Teferi's Puzzle Box to keep opponent hands full and protect the prerequisite. Jeska's Will alone can close games through Grapeshot or Aetherflux Reservoir once storm count climbs; the card draw from Big Score feeds those closers naturally. For a tighter Sunforger line that skips the hand-count dependency entirely, Isochron Scepter plus Dramatic Reversal in the same shell is strictly more reliable.
