Heliod, the Radiant Dawn reduces an artifact in hand to zero mana, letting Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain trigger on each cast; Words of Wind redirects those draw-replacement triggers to force each player to return a permanent to hand, and Sol Ring funds the one-mana activation every iteration. The loop clears the table of permanents piece by piece — no opponent keeps a board.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

You have an artifact card in hand that can be cast for {0} due to Heliod Opponents have drawn at least one card this turn. You can use a historic creature to get infinite ETB and LTB triggers. If you do not use a creature, this combo will not produce those results.

02

Steps

  1. Activate Sol Ring by tapping it, adding {C}{C}.
  2. Activate Words of Wind by paying {1}.
  3. Cast an artifact by paying {0}.
  4. Jhoira triggers, causing each player to return a permanent they control from the battlefield to their hand due to Words of Wind, with you returning Sol Ring to your hand.
  5. Activate Words of Wind by paying {1}.
  6. Cast Sol Ring by paying {0}.
  7. Jhoira triggers, causing each player to return a permanent they control from the battlefield to their hand due to Words of Wind, with you returning the artifact cast in step 3 to your hand.
  8. Repeat.

03

Result

Infinite ETB; Infinite LTB; Infinite storm count; Mass Land Denial; Return all permanents opponents control to their owner's hand

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Any zero-mana artifact works as the bounce fodder alongside Sol Ring, so Mox Opal or Chrome Mox can substitute if the hand is light on options. The combo strands opponents with lands in hand and nothing else, but it doesn't kill by itself — close with a Grapeshot off the storm count or an ETB damage trigger like Impact Tremors if a historic creature is in the loop.
