Infinite Damage Combos
Infinite damage combos are the most direct path to ending a Commander game — no combat math, no waiting, just a loop that kills the table. The category spans two distinct structural types: redirect engines that convert a single mass-damage spell into lethal, and sacrifice loops that generate unbounded damage one creature at a time.
The redirect engine is the dominant pattern here, and Blasphemous Act is the enabler that shows up across most of it. Paired with Repercussion, the most popular combo in this category by a wide margin, a board full of creatures turns Blasphemous Act's 13 damage-per-creature into lethal redirected damage to every opponent simultaneously. Toralf, God of Fury operates on the same principle — excess damage from any source cascades into new targets, and Blasphemous Act floods the board with excess. Fall of Cair Andros extends the same shell further, generating tokens equal to the damage dealt, which Repercussion-style effects convert back into player damage. These combos aren't truly infinite in the loop sense; they're one-shot kill lines that produce damage far beyond what any opponent can survive in a single trigger chain.
The Koll, the Forgemaster cluster is the genuine infinite loop in this category. Koll returns zero-mana creatures — Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh, Memnite, Crimson Kobolds, Crookshank Kobolds, Kobolds of Kher Keep — to hand when they die while Lightning Greaves provides haste. Goblin Bombardment sacrifices the creature for one damage, Koll returns it, equip for zero, sacrifice again. The loop is clean, the pieces are cheap, and zero-mana creatures are interchangeable, giving the deck multiple redundant paths to the same kill.
The practical difference between these two types matters for deckbuilding. The Blasphemous Act lines are brittle in one specific way: they require a board state to convert. An opponent at one creature produces one damage. The Koll loop is board-state independent once assembled — it doesn't care what opponents have in play. Both types, however, fold to the same answers: removal on the key piece before the combo resolves, or a Teferi's Protection-style response to dodge the damage entirely.
Red dominates this category because burn and sacrifice are its native language. Nearly every combo here runs red as its core color, with Goblin Bombardment serving as the sacrifice outlet that bridges tokens and zero-drops into a damage engine. If a deck is looking for a clean, low-cost infinite kill that doesn't require combat, this is the category to build around.
