Lion's Eye Diamond + Brought Back + Eternal Witness + Blasting Station

4-card combo · GW

Verdict

Yes — this 4-card loop converts Lion's Eye Diamond's disposable mana into infinite damage and infinite colored mana through a tight Eternal Witness recursion chain.

The engine pivots on a precise stack window: Eternal Witness enters, triggering both itself and Blasting Station, and Lion's Eye Diamond is cracked in response to generate white mana before the hand is gone. Brought Back is the glue — it resurrects both Eternal Witness and Lion's Eye Diamond from the graveyard tapped each loop, letting the cycle repeat indefinitely. This is a Selesnya value shell's kill condition, most at home under Saffi Eriksdotter or Lathril-adjacent creature-recursion builds that already run Eternal Witness.

How it works

01

Prerequisites

02

Steps

  1. Cast Eternal Witness by paying {1}{G}{G}.
  2. When Eternal Witness enters the battlefield, it triggers itself and Blasting Station.
  3. In response, activate Lion's Eye Diamond by sacrificing it and discarding your hand, adding {W}{W}{W}.
  4. Activate Blasting Station by tapping it and sacrificing Eternal Witness, dealing 1 damage to any target.
  5. Resolve the Blasting Station trigger, untapping it.
  6. Resolve the Eternal Witness trigger, returning Brought Back from your graveyard to your hand.
  7. Cast Brought Back by paying {W}{W}, returning Eternal Witness and Lion's Eye Diamond from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
  8. Repeat from step 2, adding mana of any color in step 3 once you have an arbitrary amount of white mana.
  9. Once you have infinite mana, you may choose any other valid target for Brought Back in place of Lion's Eye Diamond in step 7.

Result

Infinite colored mana; Infinite damage; Return some permanent cards from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Once the loop generates arbitrary white mana, Lion's Eye Diamond can be replaced by Brought Back's second target slot to recur any permanent card from the graveyard — use that flexibility to pull in a missing piece mid-loop. Altar of Dementia substitutes for Blasting Station if milling the table is the preferred kill, though it loses the clean untap trigger that keeps the loop tight. The weakest link here is the stack-response dependency on Lion's Eye Diamond — any effect that prevents activated abilities at instant speed collapses the whole line.
