Windcrag Siege
Enchantment
As this enchantment enters, choose Mardu or Jeskai.
• Mardu — If a creature attacking causes a triggered ability of a permanent you control to trigger, that ability triggers an additional time.
• Jeskai — At the beginning of your upkeep, create a 1/1 red Goblin creature token. It gains lifelink and haste until end of turn.

Windcrag Siege lets you chain combat steps, and in the right shell that's a game-ending engine — Hellkite Charger has been doing this for years, but Windcrag Siege staples the effect to a permanent that snowballs on its own. The cost is real: you need creatures swinging and mana open after combat, which means it blanks in slower or controlling builds.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Zurgo, Thunder's Decree
Zurgo, Thunder's Decree is the headliner — Windcrag Siege's extra combat triggers stack directly with Zurgo, Thunder's Decree's attack-trigger payoffs, and the two together can close a table in a single turn.

Otharri, Suns' Glory
Otharri, Suns' Glory generates Experience counters on attack, so Windcrag Siege's additional combat steps mean more counters and more Rebel tokens in a single turn cycle.

Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon
Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon scales off the number of times creatures attacked this turn, making Windcrag Siege a direct multiplier — every extra combat step adds another stack of Gnome tokens.

Isshin, Two Heavens as One
Isshin, Two Heavens as One doubles attack triggers across the board, so pairing it with Windcrag Siege turns every extra combat into a double-dip on every on-attack ability the deck runs.

Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog rewards aggressive, repeated attacks, and Windcrag Siege feeds that gameplan by supplying the additional combat steps that let Sonic the Hedgehog trigger multiple times per turn.
Format Analysis

Commander is where Windcrag Siege belongs — the format's longer games give you time to set up the mana and board presence the card demands, and the attack-trigger ecosystem in Mardu and Naya makes the extra combat steps punishing. In competitive 60-card formats like Modern and Pioneer, extra-combat enchantments at this cost are too slow and too conditional to matter unless you're deep in a dedicated combo shell. Standard legality means it's technically in the pool, but combat-step engines rarely survive at that power level without redundancy. Legacy and Vintage have faster, cheaper ways to take extra turns or generate infinite combat, so Windcrag Siege won't see play there outside of casual tables.
