Lutri, the Spellchaser copies the first instant or sorcery you cast each turn — a free Fork stapled to a 3/2 body whenever you flash it in. The ceiling is enormous (doubling a Baral's Expertise mid-combo is backbreaking), and in dedicated spellslinger builds like Alania, Divergent Storm it pulls double duty as both engine piece and companion if your deck qualifies.

Alania, Divergent Storm
Alania, Divergent Storm triggers off every instant and sorcery you cast, so Lutri, the Spellchaser turning one spell into two triggers per turn is a direct multiplier on Alania's token output — the copy is free, the second trigger isn't.

In Commander, Lutri, the Spellchaser is legal but the companion restriction is brutal — every single other card in your 99 must have a unique name, which rules out most competitive lists and forces real deckbuilding constraints. Running it as a mainboard creature sidesteps that entirely: you lose the companion guarantee but keep the copy trigger with no deck-construction tax. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer, the singleton formats and graveyard-light shells make the companion clause marginally more achievable in 60-card builds, though Lutri still competes in a space where faster, unconditional threats dominate. Vintage is the format most willing to bend for powerful effects, but even there the companion cost is steep enough that Lutri rarely makes the cut outside dedicated brews.

Price data isn't available at the moment — check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for current listings. Lutri, the Spellchaser has historically been cheap relative to its power ceiling, so if you're playing a singleton-heavy Commander list and want the copy effect without the companion baggage, it's usually an easy pickup.
