Admonition Angel card art
Admonition Angel exiles a nonland permanent every time a land enters under your control — in a landfall deck, that's a repeating removal engine stapled to a 6/6 flying body. Commanders like Obuun, Mul Daya Ancestor and Ashaya, Soul of the Wild turn every land drop into a threat evacuation, making it one of the strongest value pieces available in white-green.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Obuun, Mul Daya Ancestor

Obuun, Mul Daya Ancestor

40.4% of decks · synergy 0.40

Obuun, Mul Daya Ancestor triggers landfall repeatedly through land animation and extra land drops, which means Admonition Angel is exiling a permanent almost every turn — the two together form a hard-to-answer control package that most opponents can't outrace.

02
Karametra, God of Harvests

Karametra, God of Harvests

28.4% of decks · synergy 0.27

Karametra, God of Harvests fetches a land every time you cast a creature, so Admonition Angel gets a free exile trigger off each spell you play — the deck generates enough landfall events to keep multiple opposing permanents locked out without dedicating extra card slots to land ramp.

Format Analysis

Admonition Angel's home is Commander, where landfall commanders give it a near-continuous stream of triggers and the political weight of holding three exiled permanents is real leverage at a multiplayer table. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but wholly unplayable — six mana for a conditional removal creature doesn't compete with those formats' density of cheap interaction. Modern is the same story: the mana cost and the creature-reliance make it too slow and fragile for a format that kills you before you untap. Admonition Angel is a Commander card through and through, and a good one in the right shell.

Budget Alternatives

Cheaper options that do most of the same work

Felidar Retreat and Emeria Shepherd both generate incremental value off landfall at lower mana costs, though neither matches Admonition Angel's ability to remove a permanent outright — Felidar Retreat goes wide or puts counters on creatures, and Emeria Shepherd reanimates rather than threatens. If the goal is landfall-based removal specifically, Skyclave Apparition is the cleanest sub-$5 answer, trading the repeatable upside for a more reliable exile that doesn't return when the Angel dies.

Price Context

Current price

$22.71 premium tier

At $22.71, Admonition Angel sits in premium territory for a card that sees play in one format and in a specific subset of Commander decks. The price reflects its casual demand in landfall builds rather than any competitive ceiling, so whether it holds depends entirely on whether new landfall commanders keep driving interest.
