Teferi's Protection + Worldfire

2-card combo · RW

Verdict

Yes — this 2-card line ends the game on the spot by exiling the board, stripping hands and graveyards, and dropping every opponent to 1 life while leaving the caster untouched.

Teferi's Protection phases out all of the caster's permanents before Worldfire resolves, so those permanents survive the exile clause and return on the next untap step — lands, creatures, and rocks included. Opponents wake up with 1 life, no hand, no graveyard, and no board; one attack step closes it. The shell is any Boros or Jeskai build that can hold up 8 mana across white and red and protect sorcery-speed windows.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

02

Steps

  1. Activate all your mana-producing permanents, adding at least {8}{W}{R}{R}{R}.
  2. Cast Teferi's Protection by paying {2}{W}, phasing out all of your permanents and preventing your life total from changing until your next turn.
  3. Cast Worldfire by paying {6}{R}{R}{R}, exiling all permanents that are not phased out, exiling all cards in hands and graveyards, and setting each opponent's life total to 1.

03

Result

Each opponent's life total becomes 1; Exile all cards in hands and graveyards; Exile all permanents opponents control; Mass Land Denial

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

There is no functional substitute for Worldfire — no other card sets all opponents to 1 life while exiling permanents, hands, and graveyards simultaneously, so both pieces are irreplaceable. The only real flexibility is in protection: Teferi's Protection is the cleanest, but any effect that phases the caster's permanents out before Worldfire resolves achieves the same result; the kill itself needs no closer beyond combat.
