Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth makes all lands Forests, and Living Lands turns all Forests into 1/1 creatures — so every land on the battlefield becomes a creature. Linvala, Keeper of Silence then prevents opponents from activating any ability on creatures they control, which now includes their lands. The table is left with mana-dead boards and silenced creatures until someone can answer one of the three pieces.

How it works
01
Prerequisites
—
02
Steps
- Living Lands and Yavimaya cause all lands to be 1/1 creatures that are also Forests in addition to their other types.
- Because Linvala prevents your opponents from activating abilities of creatures they control, your opponents cannot activate abilities of lands or creatures they control.
03
Result
Opponents can't activate abilities of lands or creatures they control; Lock; Mass Land Denial
Variations
Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines
Linvala is the hardest piece to replace; the lock collapses without her static ability. If Living Lands is unavailable, Nature's Revolt or Natural Affinity perform the same land-to-creature conversion. A Boseiju, Who Endures or artifact removal hitting any piece ends the lock at instant speed, so protecting the board with Grand Abolisher or Drannith Magistrate before assembling is the move.
