Linvala, Keeper of Silence then prevents opponents from activating any ability on creatures they control, which now includes their lands. The table is left with mana-dead boards and silenced creatures until someone can answer one of the three pieces.

Linvala is the hardest piece to replace; the lock collapses without her static ability. A Boseiju, Who Endures or artifact removal hitting any piece ends the lock at instant speed, so protecting the board with Grand Abolisher or Drannith Magistrate before assembling is the move.
