Living Lands turns every Forest you control into a 1/1 creature, which sounds modest until you pair it with Yedora, Grave Gardener — at that point every nontoken creature you lose returns to the battlefield as a Forest, which Living Lands immediately animates back into a creature. The setup costs four mana and one card slot, and what you get is a recursive engine that laughs at board wipes.

Yedora, Grave Gardener
Yedora, Grave Gardener turns creature deaths into Forest ETBs, and Living Lands turns those Forests back into creatures — the two cards form a closed loop that makes removal spells actively counterproductive for your opponents.

Living Lands is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker — and Commander is the only format where it genuinely matters. Legacy and Vintage have no interest in a four-mana enchantment that animates Forests; the tempo cost is disqualifying against the threats those formats operate on. In Commander, Living Lands earns its slot almost exclusively in Yedora, Grave Gardener builds, where the creature-to-land-to-creature loop is a central game plan rather than a novelty. Outside of that specific shell, it remains a narrow card — animating lands is a fragile strategy that collapses to a single Wrath unless you have recursive density to back it up.
