Kodama of the East Tree + Ghost Town + Bloodstained Mire + Field of the Dead

4-card combo · G

Verdict

Yes — this 4-card loop generates infinite Zombie tokens and infinite landfall triggers on any opponent's turn, making it nearly impossible to interact with at sorcery speed.

Bloodstained Mire's fetch triggers Field of the Dead and Kodama of the East Tree simultaneously; Kodama puts Ghost Town onto the battlefield for free, which re-triggers both, and Ghost Town's zero-cost bounce ability returns it to hand to keep the chain alive indefinitely. The entire loop happens at instant speed on an opponent's turn, which means sweepers and most responses come too late once it starts. Mono-green landfall and Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait shells are the natural homes — both already want seven distinctly named lands in play.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

It is not your turn. There is a land card in your library that can be fetched using Bloodstained Mire. Your life total is at least 2. You control seven or more lands with different names.

02

Steps

  1. Fetch a land using Bloodstained Mire.
  2. When the fetched land enters, Field of the Dead and Kodama trigger.
  3. Resolve the Kodama trigger, putting Ghost Town from your hand onto the battlefield.
  4. When Ghost Town enters, Kodama and Field of the Dead trigger.
  5. Holding priority, activate Ghost Town's first abiltiy by tapping it, adding {C}.
  6. Activate Ghost Town's second ability by paying {0}, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
  7. Resolve the Field of the Dead from step 4, creating a token.
  8. When the token enters, Kodama triggers, putting Ghost Town from your hand onto the battlefield.
  9. When Ghost Town enters, Field of the Dead triggers.
  10. Repeat from step 5.

03

Result

Infinite ETB; Infinite colorless mana; Infinite creature tokens; Infinite landfall triggers

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Retreat to Coralhelm or Amulet of Vigor aren't needed here; Ghost Town's built-in bounce is the engine. If Field of the Dead is exiled, the loop collapses entirely — there is no functional replacement that produces a token on land ETB in green alone without adding white for Emeria Shepherd or blue for Tatyova, Benthic Druid. Finish the token flood with Altar of Dementia, Craterhoof Behemoth, or any sacrifice outlet that converts infinite 2/2s into a win condition.
