Kodama of the East Tree + Ghost Town + Arid Mesa + Rampaging Baloths

4-card combo · G

Verdict

Yes — this 4-card loop converts a single fetch activation into infinite Beast tokens, infinite landfall triggers, and infinite colorless mana on any opponent's turn.

Arid Mesa's fetch triggers Rampaging Baloths and Kodama of the East Tree simultaneously; Kodama drops Ghost Town for free, Ghost Town's landfall re-triggers both, and Ghost Town bounces itself back to hand before the stack resolves, resetting the loop. The restriction is real: this only goes infinite on an opponent's turn, because Ghost Town's return-to-hand ability only functions outside the owner's turn — assemble the pieces before passing.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

It is not your turn. There is a land card in your library that can be fetched using Arid Mesa. Your life total is at least 2.

02

Steps

  1. Fetch a land using Arid Mesa.
  2. When the fetched land enters, Rampaging Baloths and Kodama trigger.
  3. Resolve the Kodama trigger, putting Ghost Town from your hand onto the battlefield.
  4. When Ghost Town enters, Kodama and Rampaging Baloths trigger.
  5. Holding priority, activate Ghost Town's first abiltiy by tapping it, adding {C}.
  6. Activate Ghost Town's second ability by paying {0}, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
  7. Resolve the Rampaging Baloths from step 4, creating a token.
  8. When the token enters, Kodama triggers, putting Ghost Town from your hand onto the battlefield.
  9. When Ghost Town enters, Rampaging Baloths triggers.
  10. Repeat from step 5.

03

Result

Infinite colorless mana; Infinite creature tokens; Infinite landfall triggers; Infinite ETB

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Any fetchland replaces Arid Mesa; the fetch itself is the ignition, not the specific card. Rampaging Baloths can be swapped for any landfall payoff that generates tokens — Scute Swarm or Felidar Retreat cover green's options if Baloths gets removed. The loop needs a land in library to fetch, so running this late in a game with a thin library is a real failure mode to plan around.
