Ghost Town card art
Ghost Town is a land that bounces itself to your hand at the start of any opponent's turn — free, repeatable, and requiring zero mana investment — which makes it the engine piece that turns Retreat to Coralhelm into an infinite landfall loop. Outside of dedicated landfall and land-bounce synergies it's a do-nothing land, so Omnath, Locus of Rage decks and their kin run it hard while everyone else ignores it entirely.

Best Commanders

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Omnath, Locus of Rage

Omnath, Locus of Rage

23.2% of decks · synergy 0.22

Ghost Town gives Omnath, Locus of Rage a land that replays itself every turn cycle, generating a landfall trigger — and therefore a 5/5 Elemental token — on a loop that requires no additional mana after setup. With enough landfall payoffs in play, a single Ghost Town can dominate entire turns across the table.

02
Zimone and Dina

Zimone and Dina

8.9% of decks · synergy 0.09

Zimone and Dina draw cards and drain opponents whenever a land enters under your control with a +1/+1 counter on a creature, so Ghost Town's self-bounce loop converts directly into repeatable card draw and life loss. The bounce happens on opponents' turns, meaning Zimone and Dina gets triggers all the way around the table, not just on yours.

Ghost Town sees essentially all of its play in Commander, where landfall commanders turn its self-bounce ability into a free engine rather than a tempo loss. In Legacy and Vintage it's technically legal but has never found a home — those formats move too fast for a land that produces colorless mana and requires a supporting cast to matter. Commander is the only format where the four-player turn structure actually rewards bouncing Ghost Town on three opponents' upkeeps, making the card functionally better in pods than in any 1v1 context.

Price Context

Current price

$1.98 cheap tier

At $1.98, Ghost Town sits at the low end of niche-but-necessary combo pieces — you're paying for a specific role in a specific deck type, not general utility. That price is stable: demand is narrow enough that it won't spike without a major reprint ban, and the card is obscure enough that casual demand won't drive it down either.
