Kodama of the East Tree chains Ghost Town back onto the battlefield every time a permanent enters, and Dragonback Assault converts each Ghost Town ETB into a creature token — which itself triggers Kodama to repeat the cycle. Ghost Town's zero-cost return ability is the engine's reset valve, bouncing itself to hand so Kodama can replay it again immediately. The whole loop fires off Bloodstained Mire as the ignition point, so a single fetch land on someone else's turn wins the game.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

It is not your turn. There is a land card in your library that can be fetched using Bloodstained Mire. Your life total is at least 2.

02

Steps

  1. Fetch a land using Bloodstained Mire.
  2. When the fetched land enters, Dragonback Assault and Kodama trigger.
  3. Resolve the Kodama trigger, putting Ghost Town from your hand onto the battlefield.
  4. When Ghost Town enters, Kodama and Dragonback Assault trigger.
  5. Holding priority, activate Ghost Town's first abiltiy by tapping it, adding {C}.
  6. Activate Ghost Town's second ability by paying {0}, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
  7. Resolve the Dragonback Assault from step 4, creating a token.
  8. When the token enters, Kodama triggers, putting Ghost Town from your hand onto the battlefield.
  9. When Ghost Town enters, Dragonback Assault triggers.
  10. Repeat from step 5.

03

Result

Infinite ETB; Infinite colorless mana; Infinite creature tokens; Infinite landfall triggers

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Any fetchland that finds the right land type replaces Bloodstained Mire as the ignition source — Wooded Foothills, Scalding Tarn, or any other fetch in Temur colors starts the loop identically. Acorn-staple note: confirm Dragonback Assault's oracle text creates a token on landfall rather than requiring additional setup — the loop collapses if the token trigger has conditions the steps don't account for. Infinite tokens and mana need a sink; Craterhoof Behemoth or a hasty finisher already in play closes the game on the spot.
