Morophon, the Boundless reduces Saffi Eriksdotter's casting cost to zero, which is the entire engine — Saffi and Eternal Witness form a self-replacing loop through Ashnod's Altar, each iteration producing two colorless and triggering every death and ETB effect on the board. The combo fits naturally in 5-color Morophon Human tribal, where both Saffi and Eternal Witness are independently useful pieces.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

"Human" or "Scout" chosen with Morophon..

02

Steps

  1. Activate Saffi by sacrificing it, targeting Eternal Witness.
  2. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Eternal Witness, adding {C}{C}.
  3. When Eternal Witness dies, Saffi triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  4. When Eternal Witness enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Saffi from your graveyard to your hand.
  5. Cast Saffi by paying {0} due to Morophon.
  6. Repeat.

03

Result

Infinite colorless mana; Infinite death triggers; Infinite ETB; Infinite LTB; Infinite sacrifice triggers; Infinite storm count

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Karmic Guide replaces Eternal Witness as the recursive half if graveyard recursion is disrupted — it costs one more but flies. Once the loop runs, Walking Ballista or Zulaport Cutthroat closes the game; without a damage or drain outlet the infinite mana needs somewhere to go.
