Phyrexian Altar converts Eternal Witness and every other creature into black mana; Living Death resets the board, returns Eternal Witness, and the Witness trigger hands Living Death right back. The loop requires four additional creatures in the graveyard or on the battlefield to pay the 5-mana recast each cycle, so the engine rewards the same stocking-the-graveyard gameplan that Golgari shells already pursue with Buried Alive and Fauna Shaman.

How it works

Prerequisites

You have at least four additional creature cards in your graveyard and/or on the battlefield.

Steps

Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Eternal Witness and all other creatures you control, adding for each creature sacrificed.
Cast Living Death by paying , causing each player to exile all creatures from their graveyard, sacrifice all creatures they control, then return the exiled cards to the battlefield.
When Eternal Witness enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Living Death from your graveyard to your hand.
Repeat any number of times.

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Phyrexian Altar is the only sacrifice outlet that works here — it has to generate the black mana to recast Living Death. Dictate of Erebos or Blood Artist turns infinite death triggers into a table kill; without a payoff in play, the loop is infinite but not immediately lethal.
