Kodama of the East Tree + Ghost Town + Arid Mesa + Sporemound

4-card combo · G

Verdict

Yes — this 4-card loop converts a single fetch land activation into infinite Saproling tokens, infinite landfall triggers, and infinite colorless mana on any opponent's turn.

Arid Mesa's fetch triggers both Kodama of the East Tree and Sporemound; Kodama puts Ghost Town into play for free, Ghost Town bounces itself back to hand, and Sporemound's token trigger restarts the chain through Kodama again. The loop only fires on opponents' turns because Ghost Town's self-bounce is a sorcery-speed restriction — the prerequisite is baked into the engine, not a workaround.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

It is not your turn. There is a land card in your library that can be fetched using Arid Mesa. Your life total is at least 2.

02

Steps

  1. Fetch a land using Arid Mesa.
  2. When the fetched land enters, Sporemound and Kodama trigger.
  3. Resolve the Kodama trigger, putting Ghost Town from your hand onto the battlefield.
  4. When Ghost Town enters, Kodama and Sporemound trigger.
  5. Holding priority, activate Ghost Town's first abiltiy by tapping it, adding {C}.
  6. Activate Ghost Town's second ability by paying {0}, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
  7. Resolve the Sporemound from step 4, creating a token.
  8. When the token enters, Kodama triggers, putting Ghost Town from your hand onto the battlefield.
  9. When Ghost Town enters, Sporemound triggers.
  10. Repeat from step 5.

03

Result

Infinite ETB; Infinite colorless mana; Infinite creature tokens; Infinite landfall triggers

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Any fetchland with the same color restriction as Arid Mesa works as the ignition piece — Windswept Heath or Wooded Foothills both serve the same role. Sporemound is the hardest piece to replace; any permanent that creates a creature token on landfall at the same speed restates the loop, but Sporemound is the only clean monogreen option. Close the game with Purphoros, God of the Forge if splashing red, or use the token army with an Overrun effect already in the green shell.
