Verdict

Yes — this 4-card loop generates infinite landfall triggers, infinite Bird tokens, and infinite colorless mana off a single fetch activation on an opponent's turn.

Arid Mesa's fetch triggers both Kodama of the East Tree and Emeria Angel; Kodama puts Ghost Town onto the battlefield for free, which retriggers the chain, and Ghost Town's zero-cost bounce ability keeps it cycling back to hand each loop. The combo only fires on an opponent's turn because Ghost Town's return-to-hand ability requires it — the window is narrow but entirely reliable in a deck that can hold up four permanents at once.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

It is not your turn. There is a land card in your library that can be fetched using Arid Mesa. Your life total is at least 2.

02

Steps

  1. Fetch a land using Arid Mesa.
  2. When the fetched land enters, Emeria Angel and Kodama trigger.
  3. Resolve the Kodama trigger, putting Ghost Town from your hand onto the battlefield.
  4. When Ghost Town enters, Kodama and Emeria Angel trigger.
  5. Holding priority, activate Ghost Town's first abiltiy by tapping it, adding {C}.
  6. Activate Ghost Town's second ability by paying {0}, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
  7. Resolve the Emeria Angel from step 4, creating a token.
  8. When the token enters, Kodama triggers, putting Ghost Town from your hand onto the battlefield.
  9. When Ghost Town enters, Emeria Angel triggers.
  10. Repeat from step 5.

03

Result

Infinite landfall triggers; Infinite ETB; Infinite colorless mana; Infinite creature tokens

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Any fetchland that searches Plains or basic lands fills Arid Mesa's slot — Windswept Heath and Marsh Flats both work identically here. Emeria Angel is the weakest piece to replace; Lotus Cobra converts the Ghost Town loops into colored mana instead of colorless, while Tireless Tracker generates infinite Clues rather than tokens, either of which closes faster with a payoff already in play.
