3-card combo · RG
Verdict
Yes — this 3-card lock destroys every land that enters the battlefield, ending the game for any deck that needs to develop its mana.

Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth makes all lands Forests, and Living Lands turns every Forest into a 1/1 creature, so each land that enters immediately becomes a creature — at which point Aether Flash deals 2 damage to it and kills it before its controller ever taps it. The lock is symmetrical, so the pilot running this needs either a mana-sufficient board already in play or a commander like Omnath, Locus of Rage that operates off existing resources.

How it works

Prerequisites

02
Steps
- Whenever a land enters the battlefield, it enters as a 1/1 Forest creature due to Yavimaya and Living Lands.
- Aether Flash triggers, dealing 2 damage to the land.
- The land dies as a state-based action due to having less than zero toughness.

Result
Destroy all lands that enter the battlefield; Lock; Mass Land Denial
Variations
Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines
Kormus Bell replaces Living Lands if the combo is built in a shell that can produce white mana, animating Swamps instead, though that requires Yavimaya to also make all lands Forests first. Spreading Algae is a softer pressure piece if the full lock feels too expensive to assemble, but the three-card version is the only clean kill — anything less just slows land development rather than stopping it.
