Trespasser's Curse card art
Trespasser's Curse drains an opponent for one life every time a creature enters the battlefield under their control — stapled to their permanents, it punishes token generators, creature tutors, and reanimation without them ever touching it. Two mana to attach it to the biggest threat at the table, and Lynde, Cheerful Tormentor turns it into a recursive engine while Famished Paladin combos off it for infinite life.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Lynde, Cheerful Tormentor

Lynde, Cheerful Tormentor

92.2% of decks · synergy 0.90

Lynde, Cheerful Tormentor runs Trespasser's Curse in 92% of lists because Lynde recycles curses that die or get sacrificed, turning a single copy into a repeating drain threat that opponents can never permanently answer.

02
Eriette of the Charmed Apple

Eriette of the Charmed Apple

36.8% of decks · synergy 0.34

Eriette of the Charmed Apple layers Trespasser's Curse into a Aura-based life-drain package — every creature that enters under an enchanted opponent's control accelerates the damage Eriette is already stacking each upkeep.

03
Ghen, Arcanum Weaver

Ghen, Arcanum Weaver

14.1% of decks · synergy 0.14

Ghen, Arcanum Weaver can sacrifice and recur enchantments at will, making Trespasser's Curse a reusable resource that keeps landing on whoever has the most creature activity.

04
Mathas, Fiend Seeker

Mathas, Fiend Seeker

14.8% of decks · synergy 0.14

Mathas, Fiend Seeker aims curses and bounties at opponents' creatures, and Trespasser's Curse fits cleanly into that political-pressure shell — every new creature they deploy punishes them further for not dealing with Mathas's targets.

05
Dina, Soul Steeper

Dina, Soul Steeper

13.5% of decks · synergy 0.13

Dina, Soul Steeper triggers off life loss, so Trespasser's Curse converts each opponent's creature-heavy turn into direct damage and a Dina activation, doubling the payoff from a single enchantment.

Format Analysis

Commander is where Trespasser's Curse actually matters — in a four-player game with opponents who reliably flood the board with creatures, a single copy can drain 10–20 life across a game without any further investment. Pauper is the only other format worth noting, where it sees fringe play in life-drain or prison shells that want cheap, persistent enchantments. In Modern and Pioneer the effect is too slow and too narrow to compete; creature-heavy opponents just outpace the one-life ping before it accumulates. Legacy and Vintage don't care about it at all.

Price Context

Current price

$0.38 bulk tier

At $0.38, Trespasser's Curse is bulk — you're picking it out of a dollar bin or tossing it in a cart without thinking twice. Bulk curse enchantments don't spike unless a new commander warps demand, so expect this price to stay flat.
