Commander is where Eriette of the Charmed Apple does her best work — draining all opponents simultaneously scales with the format's multiplayer structure in a way it simply can't in one-on-one. In competitive Legacy and Vintage, a 3/3 for three that requires setup is too slow and too fragile to see serious play. Modern and Pioneer have efficient Aura synergy decks, but those formats reward speed and redundancy, and Eriette's payoff lands a turn too late to compete with the format's threats. She is legal in Standard but hasn't carved out a role there either; the drain wins games in long Commander pods, not in 20-life races.
