Tempest of Light card art
Tempest of Light destroys all enchantments — every one, no exceptions, no targeting — for three mana at sorcery speed. It's a nuclear reset button most relevant as an answer to Nine Lives or other enchantment-based locks, and it earns a slot in any white deck that needs a clean answer to enchantment-heavy boards.

In Commander, Tempest of Light fills a niche role: white's version of a sweeper for enchantment-dense boards, particularly useful when targeted removal can't keep up with multiple pillowfort or combo pieces at once. Legacy and Vintage have access to faster, more flexible options, so Tempest of Light rarely competes there. It's legal in both formats but sees virtually no play — the formats move too fast for a sorcery-speed global enchantment wipe that doesn't replace itself. Commander is where it actually matters, and even there it's a meta call rather than a staple.
