Éomer of the Riddermark hits the board as a 4/2 trampler that can immediately grow to a 6/4 the moment another creature you control dies or a creature an opponent controls dies — the trigger is nearly impossible to avoid in combat. The cost is a four-mana legendary that dies to any two-damage removal, but pair him with Breath of Fury and the turn ends before that matters.

Commander is where Éomer of the Riddermark actually lives — five-color Humans, Riders of Rohan tribal, and any Mardu aggro shell that wants a ground beater who scales in combat all want him. In Legacy and Vintage he's legal but competes with threats that win on turn one or two, so his slot never materializes in practice. Modern is the same story: four mana for a 4/2 is not a Modern rate, and the +2/+2 trigger, while real, doesn't offset that. He's a Commander card through and through.
