Omen of the Hunt card art
Omen of the Hunt puts a land into play tapped and leaves an enchantment on the battlefield — two things that matter, for three mana. The scry-and-sacrifice upside keeps it from being pure ramp filler, and Anikthea, Hand of Erebos turns that leftover enchantment into a body, which is the real reason it shows up in 21% of her lists.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Anikthea, Hand of Erebos

Anikthea, Hand of Erebos

21.6% of decks · synergy 0.20

Anikthea, Hand of Erebos reanimates non-Aura enchantments as 3/3 creature copies, so Omen of the Hunt does double duty — fixing your mana early, then becoming a free attacker once Anikthea hits the board.

02
Wildsear, Scouring Maw

Wildsear, Scouring Maw

10.1% of decks · synergy 0.10

Wildsear, Scouring Maw rewards enchantment density and cares about permanents entering, so Omen of the Hunt pulls weight as a cheap, sticky enchantment that also smooths the mana needed to cast Wildsear on curve.

In Commander, Omen of the Hunt earns its slot specifically in enchantment-matters decks — everywhere else, three-mana ramp that enters tapped is a tempo concession most lists can't afford. Pauper is where it has the most crossover appeal, since the enchantment subtype is a real axis and options are narrower at common. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer the competition from two-mana land fetches like Farseek and Nature's Lore is steep enough that Omen of the Hunt rarely makes the cut outside of dedicated enchantress shells. Vintage has no realistic home for it.

Price Context

Current price

$0.17 bulk tier

At $0.17, Omen of the Hunt is deep bulk — a throw-in at any card table. Bulk enchantments with niche commander demand don't tend to climb unless a marquee commander spikes interest, so grab it for pennies and don't expect it to be worth more.
