Gemhide Sliver card art
Gemhide Sliver turns every Sliver on the battlefield into a mana dork, collapsing the cost curve on any tribal pile and letting you flood the board multiple turns ahead of schedule. Sliver Queen and The First Sliver both lean on it hard — it's the reason those decks can chain spells in one explosive turn rather than spacing them across three.

The First Sliver cascades into more Slivers, and Gemhide Sliver ensures each new body immediately contributes mana — the engine snowballs fastest when every creature you resolve also ramps you into the next one.

Commander is where Gemhide Sliver does its best work, since five-color Sliver decks need a critical mass of mana production to go off, and a two-mana piece that scales with your creature count is exactly that. In Legacy and Vintage, dedicated Sliver shells are fringe but functional, and Gemhide Sliver earns a slot there as one of the few redundant copies of the Manaweft Sliver effect. Pauper is the other format worth noting — it's common, legal, and any aggressive Sliver build in the format wants the full four copies. Pioneer and Standard don't apply.
