Gauntlets of Chaos card art
Gauntlets of Chaos lets you swap a permanent you control with a permanent an opponent controls that shares a type — a forced exchange that can be brutally one-sided when you're trading a token for a Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider. The five-mana activation cost is steep, but a single well-timed swap can flip a game state entirely.

Gauntlets of Chaos is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but it's effectively a Commander card — the effect is too slow and conditional for Legacy or Vintage, where the game ends before a five-mana repeatable swap matters. In Commander, it occupies a narrow but real niche in theft and politics builds, where trading a low-value permanent for an opponent's high-value one is a legitimate game plan. Oathbreaker can support it in the right shell, but the smaller starting hand size and faster pace make the activation cost harder to justify.

Pricing data for Gauntlets of Chaos isn't currently available, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for the current market rate. As an older card with a narrow application, copies tend to be inexpensive — if you're building a Zedruu or chaos-politics deck, it's worth picking up whenever you find one at a reasonable price.
