Eldritch Immunity gives a target creature protection from everything until end of turn and untaps it — a combat trick, a counterspell-dodger, and a blocker-clearer all in one card. In Ulalek, Fused Atrocity decks, where a single Eldrazi spell triggers cascading copies of every other Eldrazi ability you've activated this turn, keeping Ulalek, Fused Atrocity alive through a removal attempt is the difference between a full chain and a dead combo.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Ulalek, Fused Atrocity
Ulalek, Fused Atrocity turns every Eldrazi cast into a multiplier for every other Eldrazi ability, so losing the commander before the chain resolves is catastrophic — Eldritch Immunity stops the kill shot at instant speed and untaps Ulalek to boot, which is why 76% of Ulalek lists run it.

Herigast, Erupting Nullkite
Herigast, Erupting Nullkite's emerge payoffs depend on it surviving long enough to attack, and Eldritch Immunity lets it punch through a board of blockers while shrugging off any instant-speed removal the defending player throws at it.

Ultima, Origin of Oblivion
Ultima, Origin of Oblivion needs to stay on the battlefield to keep annihilator and exile triggers accruing, and Eldritch Immunity provides a cheap insurance policy against targeted removal that would reset the snowball.

Dawnsire, Sunstar Dreadnought
Dawnsire, Sunstar Dreadnought wants to attack repeatedly, and Eldritch Immunity clears a path through blockers while protecting it from combat tricks and removal at the same moment — one card solving two attack-phase problems.

Rendmaw, Creaking Nest
Rendmaw, Creaking Nest generates Eldrazi Spawn tokens whenever creatures die, so keeping Rendmaw alive through a board wipe or targeted removal matters enormously — Eldritch Immunity covers both angles for a single mana.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Eldritch Immunity is a Commander card through and through — the effect is powerful but narrow enough that competitive Vintage and Legacy decks have no interest in a one-shot protection spell when Teferi's Protection and Force of Will exist. In Commander, it earns its slot specifically in Eldrazi-tribal builds where protecting a high-value legendary creature for a single white mana is a dramatic rate advantage. Oathbreaker sees the same logic apply at a smaller scale, and the card is legal there. Modern, Pioneer, Standard, and Pauper are non-factors — the card simply isn't legal in those formats.

Cheaper options that do most of the same work
Eldritch Immunity is already at the budget end of the protection-spell spectrum, so true replacements are slim. Sejiri Shelter does similar work — cheap instant-speed protection — though it only covers one color rather than everything, meaning it won't blank a colorless removal spell or a Toxic Deluge. Heroic Intervention covers your whole board for two mana and costs less, but it trades the untap clause and the combat-trick dimension for breadth, which matters less in Eldrazi builds that want to protect one specific commander.
Price Context
Current price
$5.47 mid tier
At $5.47, Eldritch Immunity sits in the mid tier — justified by its near-universal inclusion in Ulalek, Fused Atrocity lists and growing adoption across all Eldrazi-tribal commanders. It's a narrow card with a concentrated demand driver, so the price tracks the health of that archetype more than anything else.
