Ulalek, Fused Atrocity turns every Eldrazi cast into a trigger storm — when it copies spells, it copies all of them at once, meaning a single Eldrazi dropped with Ulalek on board can chain into a board-wiping, hand-emptying, annihilator-stacking avalanche. The cost is real: five colorless and five generic mana for a commander that does nothing the turn it enters without another Eldrazi spell ready to follow it.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is the only format where Ulalek, Fused Atrocity is genuinely at home — the singleton rule and 100-card density make stacking Eldrazi spells in a single turn a deliberate deck-building goal rather than an accident, and the longer games give you time to assemble the mana needed to make the copy trigger backbreaking. Legacy and Vintage are technically legal but offer no meaningful shell; ten-mana commanders don't fit in formats built around ending games on turns one through three. Oathbreaker is legal but the 20-life starting total makes a ramp-heavy Eldrazi plan harder to execute before the game ends.

Current pricing data for Ulalek, Fused Atrocity isn't available in this snapshot, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for a live number before buying. Given its narrow Commander-specific application, it's unlikely to carry a significant premium outside of spike demand from Eldrazi build-arounds.
