Drake Haven card art
Drake Haven turns every cycled or discarded card into a 2/2 flying Drake for one blue mana, making it a repeatable air force that scales directly with how much your deck already wants to cycle. Gavi, Nest Warden makes the first cycle each turn free, which means every free Drake is a free Drake — and Marneus Calgar draws a card off each token entering, stacking value on top of value.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Gavi, Nest Warden

Gavi, Nest Warden

54.9% of decks · synergy 0.54

Gavi, Nest Warden appears in over half of all Drake Haven decks for an obvious reason: her ability to waive the cost of the first cycle each turn means you're producing a free 2/2 flier every single turn just by playing the game, and Drake Haven is the primary payoff that justifies building around her.

02
Oskar, Rubbish Reclaimer

Oskar, Rubbish Reclaimer

30.6% of decks · synergy 0.30

Oskar, Rubbish Reclaimer casts cards from the graveyard, so discard is the engine — Drake Haven converts every non-land discard trigger into a 2/2 flier, giving the deck a board-wide payoff that turns the constant self-discard from a resource cost into a secondary win condition.

03
Captain Howler, Sea Scourge

Captain Howler, Sea Scourge

16.1% of decks · synergy 0.16

Captain Howler, Sea Scourge cares about Pirates and loot effects, and Drake Haven slots in as a passive reward for all that self-discard, generating a flying attacker each time the crew loot their way through the deck.

04
Raffine, Scheming Seer

Raffine, Scheming Seer

14.4% of decks · synergy 0.14

Raffine, Scheming Seer triggers connive on attack, which combines drawing and discarding — Drake Haven turns every connive discard into a 2/2 flier, quietly building a board while Raffine sculpts the hand.

05
Alandra, Sky Dreamer

Alandra, Sky Dreamer

13.8% of decks · synergy 0.13

Alandra, Sky Dreamer rewards drawing multiple cards per turn, and blue cycling-heavy builds naturally draw at a high rate — Drake Haven supplements Alandra's token production with a second flood of fliers off every cycled card.

Drake Haven is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but Commander is by far its natural home. In 60-card formats the three-mana enchantment is too slow and too parasitic — cycling payoffs exist in Modern and Pioneer, but dedicated cycling builds there prefer faster payoffs like Zenith Flare or Flourishing Fox that close games rather than grind them out. In Commander, Drake Haven operates on exactly the right axis: it's durable, generates incremental advantage over a long game, and rewards the kinds of spell-heavy blue decks that cycle naturally without dedicating slots to enablers.

Price Context

Current price

$0.38 bulk tier

At $0.38, Drake Haven is firmly bulk, which means there's no price barrier to picking up copies for any deck that wants it. Bulk enchantments at this synergy level tend to stay inexpensive — wide print run, narrow enough that it doesn't spike casual demand, and not a Legacy or Modern staple — so don't expect the price to move meaningfully in either direction.
