Deathless Angel card art
Deathless Angel makes any creature you control indestructible for a turn — repeatedly, as long as you can keep paying two white mana — which is a genuinely powerful protection effect stapled to a 5/7 flier with vigilance. The cost is real: six mana to cast and double-white activations mean it asks a lot of your mana base, but commanders like Toralf, God of Fury // Toralf's Hammer that want a resilient damage engine will find the ceiling worth it.

Format Analysis

Where it lives, where it can’t

Commander is where Deathless Angel actually lives — six mana is acceptable in a format that routinely goes long, and the repeated indestructibility activation scales up hard once you have multiple creatures or an infinite-mana outlet on board. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but effectively invisible; a six-mana creature with no immediate board impact doesn't compete in formats where the game is often decided by turn two or three. Modern has the same problem at a slightly less extreme level — Deathless Angel is too slow and too conditional for a format that demands efficiency. Stick to Commander, where its protective ceiling has room to matter.

Price Context

Current price

$1.15 cheap tier

At $1.15, Deathless Angel sits firmly in the bulk-rare tier — cheap enough to throw into any white deck that wants redundant protection without thinking twice about the cost. It sees enough niche Commander play to stay off the floor, but don't expect significant price movement unless a high-profile infinite-mana combo deck brings it into wider circulation.
