Day of the Dragons card art
Day of the Dragons converts your entire creature board into 5/5 flying Dragons, then refunds the original creatures when it leaves — the effect is enormous but the seven-mana cost means it arrives late and dies to any enchantment removal before it pays off. Unlike Opalescence, which creates a symmetrical and fragile board state, this is a one-sided swing that doubles as a pseudo-protection layer for the creatures it exiles.

Day of the Dragons is a Commander card — full stop. Its seven-mana cost and win-more dynamic fit the slower, multiplayer pacing of EDH, where you have time to build a creature board worth converting and opponents to punish with a sudden wave of 5/5 flyers. In Legacy and Vintage, it's technically legal but never played; the formats move too fast for a seven-mana enchantment that does nothing the turn it arrives and folds to a Force of Will or Swords to Plowshares. Oathbreaker is a possible home if your signature spell or planeswalker supports a go-wide Dragon gameplan, but the 20-life format compresses game length enough that seven mana is a steep ask.

Price Context

Current price

$0.20 bulk tier

At $0.20, Day of the Dragons sits firmly in bulk territory, which makes it easy to pick up as a casual Commander inclusion without any financial consideration. Bulk enchantments at this price rarely climb unless they find a breakout combo or see a reprint spike in demand — nothing on the horizon suggests either for this one.
