Borne Upon a Wind gives the whole turn flash, letting Rootha, Mercurial Artist bounce itself mid-stack to copy Jeska's Will repeatedly. Storm-Kiln Artist converts each spell cast into a Treasure, which funds both Rootha's activation cost and its own recast each loop, making the engine self-sustaining. The table sees a Jeska's Will resolve and then watches the loop go until the library is empty.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

An opponent has four or more cards in hand. If you control a commander, you can choose both of Jeska's Will's modes if desired.

02

Steps

  1. Cast Borne Upon a Wind by paying {1}{U}, allowing you to cast spells as though they have flash this turn.
  2. Cast Jeska's Will by paying {2}{R}.
  3. Storm-Kiln Artist triggers, creating a Treasure token.
  4. Activate a Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding {1}.
  5. Holding priority, activate Rootha by paying {2} and returning it from the battlefield to your hand, copying Jeska's Will.
  6. Storm-Kiln Artist triggers, creating a Treasure token.
  7. Resolve the Jeska's Will copy, adding at least {R}{R}{R}{R}.
  8. Activate a Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding {U}.
  9. Cast Rootha by paying {1}{U}{R}.
  10. Repeat from step 5.

03

Result

Infinite LTB; Infinite ETB; Infinite storm count; Infinite red mana; Infinite magecraft triggers; Exile your library with the ability to play the exiled cards until end of turn

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

The combo leans hard on an opponent holding four or more cards for Jeska's Will's exile mode — in the late game that's almost always true, but early it can stall. Bonus Round in the graveyard or on the stack can double the copies and accelerate the library exile, though it's not required. Grapeshot or Aetherflux Reservoir closes the game on the infinite storm count; without a dedicated outlet in hand, the exiled library must contain its own kill.
