Zombie Infestation discards two cards to make a 2/2 Zombie; that creature entering the battlefield triggers both Garruk's Uprising and Garruk's Packleader to draw two cards, netting back exactly what was spent. Beastmaster Ascension is the critical enabler — without five quest counters, the Zombie is a 2/2, not a 4/4, and the draw triggers require a creature with power 4 or greater.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

You have at least two cards in hand. Beastmaster Ascension has at least five quest counters on it.

02

Steps

  1. Activate Zombie Infestation by discarding two cards, creating a 2/2 Zombie creature token.
  2. When the Zombie enters the battlefield, Garruk's Uprising and Garruk's Packleader trigger, causing you to draw two cards.
  3. Repeat.

03

Result

Infinite draw triggers; Infinite rummaging; Infinite self-discard triggers; Near-infinite creature tokens; Near-infinite ETB

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

The prerequisite on Beastmaster Ascension is the real bottleneck — getting five counters means attacking at least twice before the loop goes live, so an aggressive creature base that naturally pings Ascension helps. Garruk's Uprising can be replaced by any other draw-on-power-4-enters effect like Elemental Bond if Uprising is unavailable, but Packleader alone requires the token to already be a 4/4, so both draw triggers demand Beastmaster Ascension already be online. Close with Altar of Dementia or Blood Artist to convert the token flood into a kill.
