3-card combo · GWU

Verdict

Yes — this 3-card loop locks the table out of the game with infinite extra turns starting the very next upkeep.

Walk the Aeons resolves for 4UU and hits the graveyard; Roon of the Hidden Realm blinks Eternal Witness at end step, which returns Walk the Aeons to hand before the extra turn begins. The loop demands nothing beyond Roon being untapped and free of summoning sickness — no additional mana rocks, no redundant pieces. Bant goodstuff and Roon flicker shells already run Eternal Witness as a value card, so the third piece is the only dedicated slot.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

Roon does not have summoning sickness.

02

Steps

  1. Cast Walk the Aeons by paying {4}{U}{U}, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
  2. Activate Roon by paying {2} and tapping it, exiling Eternal Witness until the beginning of your end step.
  3. At the beginning of your end step, Roon triggers, returning Eternal Witness from exile to the battlefield.
  4. Eternal Witness enters the battlefield, putting Walk the Aeons into your hand from your graveyard.
  5. Repeat each turn.

03

Result

Infinite turns; Lock

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Archaeomancer and Salvager of Secrets are cheaper replacements for Eternal Witness if recursion is the only requirement — both return Walk the Aeons just as cleanly at a lower mana investment to cast. Time Warp and Temporal Manipulation are drop-in substitutes for Walk the Aeons if the island buyback feels too expensive to recast each loop; either cuts the per-turn mana from 6 to 5.
