Displace blinks Eternal Witness and Peregrine Drake simultaneously; Witness returns Displace to hand while Drake untaps five lands, refunding the 3U cost and leaving mana to spare once five lands are in play. The combo fires at instant speed, which means it can be assembled mid-combat or in response to a boardwipe that hasn't resolved yet — a meaningful edge over sorcery-speed lines.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

You control up to five lands that can tap to produce at least {2}{U}. If you control five lands that can tap to produce at least {3}{U}, this combo nets infinite mana, and you may blink any other permanent besides Peregrine Drake.

02

Steps

  1. Activate up to five lands by tapping them, adding at least {2}{U}.
  2. Cast Displace by paying {2}{U}, blinking Eternal Witness and Peregrine Drake
  3. When Eternal Witness and Peregrine Drake enter the battlefield, their abilities trigger.
  4. Resolve the Eternal Witness trigger, returning Displace from your graveyard to your hand.
  5. Resolve the Peregrine Drake trigger, untapping up to five lands.
  6. Repeat.

03

Result

Infinite LTB; Infinite ETB; Infinite storm count; Infinite mana lands you control can produce; Infinite magecraft triggers; Infinite blinking; Infinite landfall triggers; Infinite untap of lands you control

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Ghostly Flicker is the direct swap for Displace and the more common include since it also targets artifacts and enchantments, making it easier to recur with Witness alone. Cloud of Faeries or Great Whale can substitute for Peregrine Drake as the land-untapping piece if redundancy matters. Once the loop is live, Walking Ballista or Blue Sun's Zenith converts the infinite mana into a kill — the engine alone wins nothing.
