The Cauldron of Eternity and Grenzo, Dungeon Warden form the core loop: Cauldron moves Archaeomancer from graveyard to library bottom on death, and Grenzo's 2-mana activation puts it straight back onto the battlefield to recur Dark Ritual. Phyrexian Altar converts each Archaeomancer sacrifice into a mana of any color, and each Dark Ritual activation generates 3 black while costing 1, netting enough to keep Grenzo firing indefinitely. This lives in Grixis reanimator and Grenzo, Dungeon Warden spellslinger shells that already want the Altar and the Cauldron as standalone pieces.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

Grenzo has power 2 or greater.

02

Steps

  1. Cast Dark Ritual by paying {B}, adding {B}{B}{B}.
  2. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Archaeomancer, adding one mana of any color.
  3. When Archaeomancer dies, The Cauldron of Eternity triggers, putting Archaeomancer from your graveyard onto the bottom of your library.
  4. Activate Grenzo by paying {2}, putting Archaeomancer from the bottom of your library into your graveyard, and then putting it onto the battlefield.
  5. When Archaeomancer enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Dark Ritual from your graveyard to your hand.
  6. Repeat.
  7. Once you have infinite mana, you may activate Grenzo's ability any number of times.

03

Result

Infinite colored mana; Infinite death triggers; Infinite ETB; Infinite LTB; Infinite magecraft triggers; Infinite sacrifice triggers; Infinite storm count; Put a selection of creature cards from your library onto the battlefield

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Mnemonic Wall and Salvager of Secrets both replace Archaeomancer as the spellflash body at a higher mana cost, though Archaeomancer's 1 toughness means it dies cleanly to Phyrexian Altar without needing a secondary sacrifice outlet. The combo produces infinite storm count and magecraft triggers but no on-board kill — pair the infinite mana with Grenzo activations to empty the library onto the battlefield, or drop in Walking Ballista as the cleaner closer.
