Grenzo, Dungeon Warden
Legendary Creature — Goblin Rogue
Grenzo enters with X +1/+1 counters on it.: Put the bottom card of your library into your graveyard. If it's a creature card with power less than or equal to Grenzo's power, put it onto the battlefield.

Grenzo, Dungeon Warden puts a repeatable reanimation engine on the command zone for as little as two mana, threatening to snowball the board every turn you untap with mana open. The cost is real — you're building around the bottom of your library, which demands tight deck construction — but the payoff clears that bar comfortably, especially over The Cauldron of Eternity or Wort, Boggart Auntie shells where creature recursion is already the point.

Commanders with the highest synergy

Wort, Boggart Auntie
Wort, Boggart Auntie's triggered ability returns a Goblin from the graveyard to hand at end of combat, which turns Grenzo, Dungeon Warden into a second redundant recursion axis — creatures Grenzo mills and kills can loop back through Wort, keeping the engine churning even when the bottom of the library isn't cooperating.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |

| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Grenzo, Dungeon Warden lives — the X in the casting cost scales with however much mana you have available, the 100-card library depth rewards the mill-from-bottom plan over a long game, and the command zone means the engine is always accessible. In Legacy and Vintage, Grenzo is technically legal but sees no meaningful play; the effect is too slow and too dependent on setup for formats where the game often ends on turn one or two. Oathbreaker shares Commander's singleton structure and could theoretically support a Grenzo shell, but the 60-card library compresses the engine uncomfortably fast.

$0.47 bulk tier
At $0.47, Grenzo, Dungeon Warden is deep bulk — you're picking up one of the more interesting combo commanders in the format for pocket change. Given the consistent demand from dedicated Grenzo builds, that floor is stable; don't expect it to spike, but you're not losing anything by grabbing copies now.
