Xenograft naming 'Angel' is the linchpin: it makes Priest of Fell Rites and Body Double count as Angels, so Bishop of Wings triggers on every entry and death. Lightning Greaves enables the loop at zero equip cost, giving shroud to each sacrifice outlet after it resolves so the chain can't be interrupted by targeted removal mid-loop. The shell belongs in Esper reanimator or aristocrats lists — Oloro, Ageless Ascetic and Teysa Karlov commanders both want this density of death and life triggers.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

"Angel" chosen with Xenograft. Your life total is at least four.

02

Steps

  1. Activate Lightning Greaves' equip ability by paying {0}, attaching it to Priest of Fell Rites.
  2. Activate Priest of Fell Rites by paying three life, tapping and sacrificing it.
  3. When Priest of Fell Rites dies, Bishop of Wings' second ability triggers, creating a 1/1 Spirit creature token.
  4. When the Spirit enters the battlefield, Bishop of Wings' first ability triggers, causing you to gain four life.
  5. Resolve the Priest of Fell Rites ability, returning Body Double from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Priest of Fell Rites.
  6. When Body Double enters the battlefield, Bishop of Wings' first ability triggers, causing you to gain four life.
  7. Activate Lightning Greaves' equip ability by paying {0}, attaching it to Body Double.
  8. Activate Body Double by paying three life, tapping and sacrificing it.
  9. When Body Double dies, Bishop of Wings' second ability triggers, creating a 1/1 Spirit creature token.
  10. When the Spirit enters the battlefield, Bishop of Wings' first ability triggers, causing you to gain four life.
  11. Resolve the Body Double ability, returning Priest of Fell Rites from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  12. When Priest of Fell Rites enters the battlefield, Bishop of Wings' first ability triggers, causing you to gain four life.
  13. Repeat.

03

Result

Infinite creature tokens; Infinite death triggers; Infinite ETB; Infinite lifegain; Infinite lifegain triggers; Infinite LTB; Infinite sacrifice triggers

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Arcane Adaptation and Conspiracy are direct replacements for Xenograft if it gets removed before the loop starts. The engine produces tokens and life in bulk but needs a secondary payoff to close — Altar of Dementia mills the table on each death trigger, and Aetherflux Reservoir converts the life total into lethal damage at the next opportunity.
