Super-Skrull + Smothering Tithe + Anointed Procession

3-card combo · WUBRG

Verdict

Yes — Super-Skrull and Smothering Tithe with Anointed Procession loop into near-infinite Treasures and a lethal board state as long as one opponent can't pay the tax.

Super-Skrull's fourth ability costs 5U and forces an opponent to draw four cards; each draw trigger from Smothering Tithe that goes unpaid produces a Treasure, and Anointed Procession doubles those Treasures to two per missed payment. Four draws means up to eight Treasures per loop, netting two mana each cycle — that surplus scales with how many opponents are locked out of paying 2 repeatedly, and the growing Treasure pool also fuels Super-Skrull's other activated abilities.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

An opponent cannot pay for Smothering Tithe's trigger more than once. If the opponent can pay for Smothering Tithe's trigger more times, you can still perform the combo if you have enough mana to outlast their mana supply. You can also continue this combo for other opponents if mana allows. The extra mana can be used to activate any of Super-Skrull's abilities.

02

Steps

  1. Activate Super-Skrull's fourth ability by paying {5}{U}, causing an opponent to draw four cards.
  2. Smothering Tithe triggers four times, causing you to create two Treasure tokens for each time the opponent cannot pay for the trigger.
  3. Activate six Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding {5}{U}.
  4. Repeat.

03

Result

Infinite card draw for any number of opponents; Infinite draw triggers for any number of opponents; Near-infinite ETB; Near-infinite Treasure tokens; Near-infinite card draw; Near-infinite colored mana; Near-infinite creature tokens; Near-infinite draw triggers; Near-infinitely large creature until end of turn

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Parallel Lives is a direct substitute for Anointed Procession in lists that lean green-heavy, serving the same doubling function. The combo works without Anointed Procession if the mana net per loop is still positive — that requires an opponent who cannot pay any of the four triggers, reducing the floor but keeping the line live. Craterhoof Behemoth or Impact Tremors closes the game once the Treasure count reaches critical mass.
