Cloudshift blinks Abdel Adrian, returning Eternal Witness and all exiled permanents to the battlefield; Eternal Witness retrieves Cloudshift, and tapping the returned mana producers funds the next iteration. The loop is self-sustaining as long as the exiled nonland permanents collectively produce at least 1 white mana to recast Cloudshift, making mana dorks like Llanowar Elves and Elvish Mystic load-bearing pieces rather than incidental support.
Recipe
How it works
01
Prerequisites
You have any number of other nonland permanents that enter the battlefield untapped, and that can collectively tap to produce enough mana to cast Cloudshift exiled by Abdel Adrian. Eternal Witness exiled by Abdel Adrian. You have enough mana to cast Cloudshift.
02
Steps
- Cast Cloudshift by paying its mana cost, blinking Abdel Adrian.
- Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, returning Eternal Witness and all other cards that were exiled with it to the battlefield.
- Abdel Adrian and Eternal Witness trigger.
- Resolve the Eternal Witness trigger, returning Cloudshift from your graveyard to your hand.
- Holding priority, activate any number of nonland permanents you control by tapping them, adding at least enough mana to cast Cloudshift.
- Resolve the Abdel Adrian trigger, exiling Eternal Witness and the mana-producing permanents until Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, and creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token for each permanent exiled this way.
- Repeat.
03
Result
Infinite LTB; Infinite ETB; Infinite storm count; Infinite creature tokens; Infinite blinking of nonland permanents; Infinite magecraft triggers
Variations
Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines
Ephemerate replaces Cloudshift for one white mana with the same blink effect, and its rebound means one free iteration before needing recursion. If Eternal Witness is unavailable, Skullwinder covers the graveyard recursion step in green-white. The loop produces unlimited tokens but needs a payoff like Impact Tremors or Altar of Dementia to close — the tokens alone won't end the game at a fast table.
