Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus doubles the power and toughness of every creature you control at the start of combat — on a body that regenerates itself by sacrificing two creatures and comes with indestructible already attached. The mana cost is steep at six, but shells like The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride that already churn through creatures and Agatha's Soul Cauldron that want activated abilities on big bodies make the investment pay off fast.

Commanders with the highest synergy

The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride
The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride turns its own Saddling requirement into a power-doubling trigger — attach Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus to any combat step and the creature doing the Saddling enters combat already doubled before the frog even connects.

Kona, Rescue Beastie
Kona, Rescue Beastie cheats large creatures into play from the top of the library, and Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus is exactly the payoff that makes a board of free creatures immediately lethal — one combat step with the Dominus in play converts a wide board into a one-hit kill.

Nikya of the Old Ways
Nikya of the Old Ways floods the board with creature-generated mana and runs zero noncreature spells, so Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus slots in as the finisher that turns every creature Nikya already pumped out into a two-shot threat.

Anzrag, the Quake-Mole
Anzrag, the Quake-Mole forces opponents to block everything or trigger a second combat, and Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus doubles every attacker's power before either combat step resolves — opponents are guaranteed to take lethal somewhere in that sequence.

Tifa, Martial Artist
Tifa, Martial Artist scales off the highest power on the board, so Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus doubling her own power or a key attacker's directly inflates every subsequent Tifa trigger for the rest of combat.
Format Analysis

Commander is where Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus actually lives — the effect is too slow and too expensive for any format that punishes a six-mana do-nothing-until-combat card, and creature-doubling is mostly irrelevant in Legacy or Vintage where the game is over before a combat step with a doubled board matters. Modern and Pioneer are theoretically legal but offer no practical home; no competitive creature strategy in those formats wants to spend six mana on a static doubler when cheaper lords and Craterhoof Behemoth effects exist. In Commander, the indestructible body and the self-regeneration clause make Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus resilient enough to actually stick, and multiplayer combat math means doubling six creatures at once regularly ends games on the spot.

Pricing data for Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus isn't currently available here — check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for a live number before buying. Given its narrow but high-impact role in creature-heavy Commander decks, it tends to sit in the range of other mythic build-arounds from its era, so verify current stock before targeting it for a build.
