Worldspine Wurm puts a 15/15 trample on the board that refuses to stay dead — kill it and you get three 5/5s, shuffle it into the library and do it again. Eleven mana is the real cost, and outside of cheat-into-play strategies like Atla Palani, Nest Tender or dedicated Wurm tribal shells like Baru, Wurmspeaker, you're paying full price for a threat that still dies to exile effects.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Baru, Wurmspeaker
Baru, Wurmspeaker is the natural home — it pumps Worldspine Wurm further, tutors it directly, and generates massive trample damage from a single swing, making the Wurm the deck's central finisher rather than a one-off bomb.

Zimone, Mystery Unraveler
Zimone, Mystery Unraveler cheats on mana by putting cards from the top of the library onto the battlefield, and Worldspine Wurm is the highest-impact hit — an 11-mana creature landing for free off a Zimone activation is exactly the kind of swingy payoff the deck wants.

Kona, Rescue Beastie
Kona, Rescue Beastie lets you pitch oversized creatures to power its abilities, and Worldspine Wurm's shuffle-back-in clause means discarding it isn't card disadvantage — you keep the threat live while fueling Kona's engine.

Oviya, Automech Artisan
Oviya, Automech Artisan rewards running high-power creatures by producing artifact tokens scaled to a creature's power, and Worldspine Wurm's base 15 power makes it the single biggest token generator in the deck.

Raph & Mikey, Troublemakers
Raph & Mikey, Troublemakers benefit from attacking with large creatures and stacking combat triggers, and Worldspine Wurm's trample plus the three 5/5 replacement tokens ensure the threat never fully goes away between attack steps.

In Commander, Worldspine Wurm earns its slot in cheat-into-play and Wurm-tribal shells where the mana cost is either irrelevant or subsidized — paying eleven mana fairly in a 40-life format is possible but slow. In Modern and Pioneer, Worldspine Wurm is legal but almost never played; the format clocks are too fast and the reanimation options too narrow for an eleven-drop to compete with cheaper threats. Legacy gives it access to Show and Tell and Sneak Attack, which historically made Worldspine Wurm a fringe sideboard threat against grind decks that can't easily exile it, but it's been eclipsed by other massive threats in those shells. Outside of dedicated combo and cheat contexts, Worldspine Wurm is a Commander card through and through.

$1.43 cheap tier
At $1.43, Worldspine Wurm is cheap for a mythic with a genuine role in multiple Commander archetypes. The price reflects its narrow competitive application outside Commander — it's not going lower, and any spike in Wurm-tribal or cheat-into-play popularity would push it up fast.
