Voyaging Satyr card art
Voyaging Satyr is a two-mana creature that untaps any land — and when that land taps for three or more mana, you're already ahead on the turn it enters. The real ceiling is pairing it with Freed from the Real for infinite mana, or dropping it under Nikya of the Old Ways where every land tap snowballs into absurd output.

Nikya of the Old Ways

Nikya of the Old Ways

36.7% of decks · synergy 0.36

Nikya of the Old Ways doubles your land mana and locks you out of noncreature spells, so Voyaging Satyr — a creature that untaps any land — becomes the cleanest way to convert that doubled mana into infinite output without breaking Nikya's restriction.

02
Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle

Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle

24.6% of decks · synergy 0.24

Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle is itself a land that taps for two blue and two green once awake, and Voyaging Satyr untaps it every turn — turning a 12/12 beatstick into a repeatable mana engine that funds whatever you want to cast alongside it.

Voyaging Satyr is legal in every major format but only matters in a handful of them. In Commander it earns its slot specifically in decks that run high-value lands — Gaea's Cradle, Sanctum of Ugin, or commanders like Arixmethes that are lands themselves — where untapping once or twice generates enough mana to matter. In Pauper, Voyaging Satyr is one of the most reliable common enablers for the Freed from the Real infinite-mana combo, which is the primary reason to build around it in that format. Everywhere else — Modern, Pioneer, Legacy — it's too slow and too narrow, since dedicated mana dorks with better bodies or broader utility exist at the same cost.
