Simic Growth Chamber card art
Simic Growth Chamber enters tapped and bounces a land, but it effectively stores two mana in one slot — that tempo cost pays off immediately in decks that want lands in hand or profit from replaying them. Kodama of the East Tree turns every bounce into a free permanent, and Zimone and Dina loops the chamber into a draw-and-drain engine, so the drawback becomes the point.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Zimone and Dina

Zimone and Dina

69.1% of decks · synergy 0.52

Zimone and Dina's activated ability rewards you for drawing extra cards, and Simic Growth Chamber's built-in bounce keeps refilling your hand with a land to replay, feeding that loop every turn.

02
Archelos, Lagoon Mystic

Archelos, Lagoon Mystic

69.2% of decks · synergy 0.52

Archelos, Lagoon Mystic lets your lands enter untapped while opponents' don't, stripping the primary downside from Simic Growth Chamber and turning it into a free two-mana rock.

03
The Wandering Minstrel

The Wandering Minstrel

43.6% of decks · synergy 0.41

The Wandering Minstrel triggers off lands entering the battlefield, so Simic Growth Chamber — and the land it bounces back to your hand — can fire that ability multiple times in a single turn cycle.

05
Zimone, Mystery Unraveler

Zimone, Mystery Unraveler

80.9% of decks · synergy 0.34

Zimone, Mystery Unraveler scores value from playing multiple lands per turn, and Simic Growth Chamber's bounce mechanic manufactures exactly that — a second land drop every rotation through the bounce loop.

Commander is where Simic Growth Chamber does its best work — the bounce drawback is largely irrelevant at a 100-card singleton table where land-matters commanders turn it into a repeatable value trigger. In Pauper it sees genuine play as budget fixing in Simic tempo and ramp shells, where the two-mana storage effect outweighs the enters-tapped penalty in slower games. Legacy and Vintage both have access to it, but neither format has patience for a tapped land that bounces itself; it doesn't see competitive play there. Pioneer and Standard can't play Simic Growth Chamber at all, so if those are your formats, look elsewhere for fixing.

Price Context

Current price

$0.33 bulk tier

At $0.33, Simic Growth Chamber is firmly bulk — borderline free in most trade binders and widely available in reprinted sets. Price stability is a non-issue; it gets reprinted often enough that it's unlikely to spike, and you should just own several copies rather than track the market.
