True Conviction card art
True Conviction turns any board of creatures into a life-swing machine — double strike means every attacker hits twice, lifelink on top means every hit gains you life, and that combination ends games that stall. Six mana is the real cost you're paying, and in a shell built around The Archimandrite's large-bodied creatures, you recoup that investment the turn it lands.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
The Archimandrite

The Archimandrite

53.5% of decks · synergy 0.52

The Archimandrite's high-power multiclass creatures already threaten combat, and True Conviction doubles their damage output while making every swing a life buffer — it appears in over half of all Archimandrite lists for exactly that reason.

02
Kangee, Sky Warden

Kangee, Sky Warden

47.1% of decks · synergy 0.44

Kangee, Sky Warden cares about creatures with flying attacking, and True Conviction means each bird hits twice with lifelink, turning a wide sky board into a one-turn clock.

03
Thurid, Mare of Destiny

Thurid, Mare of Destiny

41.2% of decks · synergy 0.33

Thurid, Mare of Destiny rewards attacking with a full team, and True Conviction compounds that payoff: double strike maximizes each creature's contribution to any power-matters trigger Thurid cares about.

04
Bre of Clan Stoutarm

Bre of Clan Stoutarm

26.2% of decks · synergy 0.24

Bre of Clan Stoutarm builds around Dwarves gaining counters and going wide, and True Conviction turns that pile of small bodies into double-damage lifelink threats that punish any opponent who doesn't block.

05
Daxos the Returned

Daxos the Returned

25.3% of decks · synergy 0.24

Daxos the Returned generates Spirit tokens whose power scales with experience counters, and True Conviction makes each of those tokens trade up or push through for double the life and double the damage.

True Conviction is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but it only sees real play in Commander — six mana is simply too slow for any 60-card format where the game is often decided by turn four. In Commander, that cost is manageable, and the card does something no cheaper enchantment does as cleanly: blanket double strike plus lifelink on your entire team, not just one creature. It's a finisher-level enchantment for combat-focused white strategies, and its staying power comes from the fact that one card does the work of two keywords across every creature you control.

Pricing data for True Conviction isn't confirmed at this time, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for a current number before buying. Given its six-mana cost and dedicated Commander niche, it has historically sat in the budget-to-mid range — worth picking up if you run a go-wide white strategy.
