Skyshroud Elf card art
Skyshroud Elf taps for any color of mana your lands could produce, which is a meaningful upgrade over a basic mana dork in multicolor decks — especially once Ashaya, Soul of the Wild turns your creatures into Forests, suddenly making every creature on board a mana source through this one elf. The cost is a two-mana body that does nothing on its own in a vacuum, so it earns its slot only in decks that can exploit the color-fixing or the Ashaya interaction.

Skyshroud Elf is a Commander staple in multicolor goodstuff and creature-heavy decks that want flexible color-fixing on a body, and it reaches genuine engine status in Ashaya, Soul of the Wild lists where the elf taps for mana equal to however many creatures you control. In Legacy and Vintage it's technically legal but competes against a much deeper ramp and fixing pool, and it sees essentially no play there. Pauper is its only other realistic home, where the card pool is narrow enough that two-mana color-fixers with upside occasionally earn consideration in green midrange.
