Shimmerwilds Growth card art
Shimmerwilds Growth puts an Aura on the battlefield and replaces itself with a land — two permanent types for one card slot, which is the whole reason enchantment commanders want it. Estrid, the Masked in particular cashes in on both halves, triggering enchantment synergies while the land keeps mana development on curve.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Estrid, the Masked

Estrid, the Masked

27.4% of decks · synergy 0.26

Estrid, the Masked wants every cheap enchantment it can get, and Shimmerwilds Growth delivers one while fetching a land — both halves feed her untap engine and enchantment-count payoffs.

02
Yenna, Redtooth Regent

Yenna, Redtooth Regent

25.1% of decks · synergy 0.23

Yenna, Redtooth Regent copies Auras at low cost, and Shimmerwilds Growth is exactly the kind of cheap, modal Aura that becomes two permanents when Yenna starts duplicating it.

03
Preston Garvey, Minuteman

Preston Garvey, Minuteman

18.5% of decks · synergy 0.18

Preston Garvey, Minuteman triggers off non-token creatures entering, and Shimmerwilds Growth's land fetch keeps mana consistent enough to cast the creature spells that fire his ability every turn.

04
Tatsunari, Toad Rider

Tatsunari, Toad Rider

17.7% of decks · synergy 0.16

Tatsunari, Toad Rider cares about casting enchantments to generate tokens, so Shimmerwilds Growth doubles as a token trigger and a land drop — two functions that keep the engine humming.

Commander is where Shimmerwilds Growth earns its slot — enchantress strategies need density, and a card that counts as an enchantment while replacing itself with a land is exactly what those decks want. In competitive 60-card formats like Modern and Pioneer it has no home; modal spells that don't impact the board fast enough don't make the cut when tempo is at a premium. Legacy and Vintage ignore it for the same reason. Standard is the only 60-card format where a slow enchantment-synergy shell could theoretically use it, but the competition for two-mana slots is steep.

Price Context

Current price

$0.29 bulk tier

At $0.29, Shimmerwilds Growth is bulk — you're paying almost nothing for a card with real mechanical upside in enchantment Commander builds. Bulk rares with genuine synergy homes tend to stay cheap unless a breakout deck pushes demand, so pick up copies freely without worrying about timing.
